Is Corn Making Us Fat?

Dose corn Make us fat? Almost all of the food that we eat has corn in it."There are some 45,000 items in the average supermarket","More than a quarter of them contain corn." writes author Michael Pollan. A meal from Mc.Donald's is Fast Food, The beef has been corn-fed and the soda has high Fructose corn syrup, and the french fries have been fried in corn syrup. Because of Reproduced corns high sugar and calories 60% of Americans are Obese and Overweight. Since corn makes us obese and overweight so it can be deadly.Obesity can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. In the early 1970s , the government told the farmers to tried to convince farmers to grow more corn to make it cheep.Humans can't eat the cheapest corn, but they can feed it to cows, pigs, and chicken. Fast food chains and Food marketers now maximize profits by supervising portions. "Americans demand cheep food, and that's what they're getting. Americans are looking at the advantage of Eating healthy for example the White House has a vegetable and Ian kimmle,16,of Linwood,New Jersey,is teaching kids how to cook with fresh ingredients.

I fell that This article is completely correct corn is making us fat. It's different when we east corn on the cob or just corn off the cob, than when you eat fast food. I think that it's better for us in the long run if we don't eat so much corn. I also think that the government should not tell farmers to grow so much cheep corn because when they say we cant eat cheep corn so then they feed it to the animals that we eat and we are still technically eating cheep corn, and that they farmers should have the animals be grass fed because it is better for the animal and it is better for humans. The more people start to eat healthy the less likely they will not become obese and or overweight.

  1. When you read this article dose it make you want to cut back on your corn intake and eat healthier?
  2. Do you think that animals should be corn-fed or grass-fed?

Romeo and juliet

Capulet Thou Art To Blameth!

Capulet's control issues and mixed messages were the reasons for Romeo and Juliet's death. In the beginning of the book Paris came to Capulet and asked him if he could have Juliet's hand in marriage and my first thought when Paris said that"younger than she are happy than mothers made."line#13 pg.27 was that Capulet would make Juliet marry Paris and not care if she liked him or not. But he didn't he said "And too soon marred are those so early made, Earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she; she's the hopeful lady of my earth. And my will to her consent is but a part." This means that he feels that she is too young to get married and he doesn't want Juliet to marry too soon and that his permission is only part of her decision, and he just wants her to be happy with whoever she would like to be with.

Capulet also did not do anything bad to Romeo when he came to the masked ball party at his house and when Tybalt wanted to kick him out hurt and or kill him, Capulet's said "Content thee, gentle coz. Let him alone, He bears him like a portly gentleman,And, to say truth, Verona brags of him to be a virtuous and well-governed youth." Capulet's telling Tybalt to calm down and tells him that he seems like a gentleman and that his reputation in Verona is that he is a well behaved, nice, young man.

Then things start to change after Tybalt killed Mercutio, then Romeo killed Tybalt. Then Capulet's did not like Romeo any more, because he killed his cousin. He also changed his mind from letting Juliet choose who she wanted to be with to not caring at all. For example Capulet Say's "Things have falling out, sir, so unluckily, hath we have had no time to move our daughter. Look you, she loved her kinsman Tybalt dearly,And so did I. Well, we were born to die. 'Tis very late. She’ll not come down tonight. I promise you, but for your company,I would have been abed an hour ago." This means that Capulet is telling Paris that they want her to marry Paris and that they haven't convinced her yet and that he promises her to him.

Now Capulet has made it so his daughter is miserable because he is now not letting her choose, not asking her what she wants to do but commanding her and threatening her. For example Capulet says, "Thank me no thinking's, nor proud me no proud, But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next to go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church,or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither out, you green sickness, carrion! Out, you baggage! You tallow face!" Capulet is saying that Juliet is ungrateful for what he has done for her and that she is going to marry Paris and he will drag her there and then he calls her all of these horrible names.

Over all Capulet made it so Juliet wanted to kill herself because he threatened to kick her out of their house and kill her if she didn't marry Paris even though he had already said that she could marry the man that she wanted to marry. Capulet is to blame for the death of Mercutio and Tybalt and Romeos banishment was because of him, because during Capulet's party Tybalt was trying to make Romeo leave and Capulet was saying that if he said one more thing that he would kill him so that made Tybalt want to kill Romeo which made Mercutio want to kill Tybalt and then it turned out being that two people were dead and Romeo was banished all because of Capulet.

My name is Elizabeth Tilley i am 13 years of age.My mum is Joan (Hurst)(Rogers) Tilley and me pop be named John Tilley and I'm out on me first trip at sea on a ship called the Mayflower. We be leaving because me mum and pop want to be able to practice the bible with out the English telling us what to do and how to do it,and we want to to speak directly to god with out a priest or a bishop at all we want to separate our selves from the church of England, and we can star congregations of our own.Alas some folk call us separatists but i call us Saints. So It be the 1st day on board of the mayflower. I am a wee bit afraid yet i also be excited and scared of leaving of Henlow Bedfordshire. The worst is that i be leaving me Grand-mama. She cant come aboard the ship because she is 82 and very frail. I will miss she so much i will miss when reads the bible story's before i rest, but it tis better leaving dear old England Than going to Jail for practicing our religion the way we want to!

September 15 1620

The winds are just wild today. A man threw up on me mum today because he got so dizzy. she was only given two wet rags and all she has left is a sliver of soap that me granmama gave to her. i fell so bad for me mum.

September 20 162o

Being on the mayflower makes life harder and harder i never get to talk to me pop because he is always taking care of me sick mum . I just hope that she makes it to the New world. I am getting very weak from lack of exercise so every morning when i get up i stretch me bones, and i dream about running around on the Grass of the New World.

September 23 1620

when i a woke this morning it was very stormy. The wind and the seas shook the boat that a Puritan woman gave birth two her child. All night it was so stormy that all of the children screamed and cried of fright. Then a Puritan Man a little over the age of me pop was coughing all night so i couldn't rest at all.

November 12 162

It tis been 65 days since i last wrote an entry but it tis also been a long and hard 65 days on board but Captain Christopher Jones announced that there will only be 1 day left on the ship. It has been just awful being on a board the may flower first the ship is small and wet and foul and the smells are horrid. There is no place to change or wash clothes. Since i am 13 years of age i have a very small bunk so it has been very hard to rest at night.I am hungry pale and sea sick all i want is sunlight and fresh water. But alas i can wait one more day.

Backpacking trip 09

There it was, there it finally was standing there deep, deep in the wilderness. There it was, all muddy and brown, there it was all moist and dirty, there it was that beautiful connection from walking to stopping, I could just smell freedom! There it was I could almost feel my 50 pound backpack fall of my sore back and shoulders. There it was,it maybe was just a simple boring bridge, but to me it was best thing I had seen throughout my two days of backpacking was that bridge where once you cross it you are finished! You can just hear the sound of cars on pavement! It was the best sound I heard for two days during that trip. But that wasn't the only part of my camping trip I liked. My favorite part about the camping trip was when all of the class went on a short night hike so it was just me, Sierra, Emily, and Mr. York were the only ones left sitting by the fire and it was really fun because we were the only ones and we were telling lots of jokes and laughing a lot.
